Nobleton Women's Institute Home
The Nobleton Women's Institute celebrates it's 100th anniversary in 2008 and many activities are planned.
On March 20, members of the community were invited to learn about local history from our Tweedsmuir history books and to contribute stories and photos.
June 16, 2008 Update on the Play, "For Home and Country" Rehearsals are going well, but we are cutting back the number of performances to 3 instead of the 5 originally proposed. There will not be a Friday July 11 nor Saturday July 12 performance.
The Wednesday July 9 show is a popular one and we encourage you to call ahead to reserve seats.
Tickets will be available at the door for all performances.
We know you will enjoy the play so please plan a trip to King Township and learn about Ontario history as well as a look at Women's Institutes.
On July 8-12, 2008, a play about Women's Institutes will be presented at the Performing Arts Centre of The Country Day School, Dufferin Street, King City, ON. Entitled "For Home and Country", the play was extensively researched and skillfully written by Leanna Brodie.
Tickets are $10 each and tickets sales started on May 5, 2008.
We had thought about selling tickets on this site using PayPal, a secure way of on-line shopping. After considering the order process and that we are a small organization and tickets will only be sold for a couple of months, we have decided to not do on-line sales.
You may contact us by email, by phone or by letter. If you send me an email, a reply will be sent with an address to which you may send payment by cheque or money order.
To purchase tickets by phone, please call Joan (905)859.5010. If the call is long distance and you don't have a good savings plan, use my favourite savings number(10 10 320).
Upon receipt of payment, tickets will be issued or saved for pick up at the theatres.
The revised performance dates and times are:
Tues. July 8 7 pm Wed. July 9 2 pm Thurs. July 10 7 pm
A poster for the play is available in the photos section; the 5 origianl dates are on the poster. Sorry. No time to make changes.
This website is being used to encourage talented and enthusiastic volunteers from King Township to participate in the play.
Scripts for parts and song are available in the Photos section of the website.
If you are interested in trying out for one of the parts or if you would like to help with costumes, sets, makeup or in any way during the production please contact us at the email address below.

A listing of characters may be seen at the link Cast of Play, and audition pieces are available in the photo section's Audition Gallery.
We are also keen to share information and an anthology of history and photographic images with all interested parties.
We are very proud of our history and heritage and the positive impact we have had in the creation and development of our small and wonderful communities.
